Have you started to talk about marketing yet?

Not really. It is something we are aware of and this is partly why our July 1st release date is quite important to us. We believe it'll give us a web presence that we'll then be able to use for such marketing. In the back of my mind I have always thought we'd try to take advantage of the numerous text-based browser games out there. Try to advertise and 'sell' our game on the gaming forums. The same goes for the D&D, SRD & Microlite20 markets.

The only marketing we've actually done and sealed is a national radio slot that we've been given in South Africa. it is going to be aired sometime in Feb 2012 (a month or 2 into our playtest) on the number 1 radio station at 4pm in the afternoon. It has a huge following, I'm not sure of the figures, but it is about the only national radio station that everyone listens to, so it must be in the millions. We've been given a 5 minute slot where we are able to talk about our business. It is totally for free (it's a daily slot for start-up companies to promote their business) and it will be interesting to see the response. It's obviously targeted just to the South African market, but it is better than nothing and believe it or not there is a huge gaming community over here.

Once we've reached July 1st we'll start thinking more seriously about marketing. Our plan really is to go into playtest at the end of this year which will last for the better part of 2012. We are fairly happy with a low volume of players during the early stages of the playtest for obvious reasons.
