The Buccaneers #16:

Buccaneers are not just sea-going bandits.  Buccaneers are a tough people living
a tough life.  Their sailing and fighting skills are very high.  Their experience
levels are also very high and Buccaneers are not likely to be merciful.
Buccaneers will make a "deal" with any clan or Faction as it suits them.
They will always adhere to such a deal unless of course, they elect not to.
If you want to be sure that they will remain friendly to your Faction, give
them reason to want to keep you around (perhaps by offering them a series
of perpetual cash payments?).  Ignore or rebuke them and they will feed upon
your shipping and your coastal holdings.  Buccaneers rarely attack one another
because of the significant risk involved.

Buccaneers Bonuses:

1 Buccaneers can out sail and out navigate any other Faction in Midgard
except possibly the Barbarians.

Having played a Buccaneer clan, I had a lot of fun in roleplaying it.

The starting Skill set I think should be:

Buccaneer Startup <Clan Name>:
LDR: NST-2, NAV-1, SEA-1
F1: NTA-1, SEA-1
F2: NTA-1, SEA-1
F3: NTA-1, SEA-1

I would train in (+1CMD) for all...LDR,F1,F2,F3. Then had also different characters train in
different other skills like; (+1 SGW), (+1 SCT) over that time. Then through Special Actions
within a declared Buccaneer city I found a trainer in Shipwright - SHW skill where I learned
the skill for everyone where after I learned it started working on designing a new ship type.
My focus was on designing a siege weapon heavy combat ship that was greater in size than
the Combat Bucc design ship. So the new kill set that I had after two years was:

Buccaneer Startup <Clan Name>:
LDR: NST-2, NAV-1, SEA-1, CMD-1, SHW-2
F1: NTA-1, SEA-1. CMD-1, SGW-1, SHW-1
F2: NTA-1, SEA-1, CMD-1, SGW-1, SHW-1
F3: NTA-1, SEA-1, CMD-1, SCT-2

It all depends on what you want to do with your clan, I was a designer and explorer that focus
was on combat focus long run. I was also pursuing the secret of Greek Fire as well and had success.

We had three players with a single clan each working  doing a Special Action each cycle on discovering "Greek Fire" secret. The process lasted 17 cycles with these three clans working on this. In then end we would have had the secret of Greek Fire with special Siege Weapons to launch it at attacked ships. It would have been a rather fun time on the seas after that was completed, let me tell you!

Big Grin I love the smell of burning ships on the sea after a good battle...

The Buccs were a awesome faction and I would love to see them return to this version of the game.
