OK, so here's the deal. Just whenever you feel like it, let me know what you like or dislike about the site here. I am especially interested in your respective opinions on the front page of the site, but would still enjoy hearing back from each of you on things that you think that we are doing right, or things that you think that we're bungling and botching.
Do any of you use the front page of the site, at all? Or do you skip straight to the forum index page? Or is there another part of the site that you are partial to? Are there any portions of the site that you simply avoid or shun?
Thanks in advance for you feedback!

PBM: The Legacy of the Code of Play By Mail |

From all walks of life, they came, entering in to the Great Cave of the Play By Mail Clan. Once there, they dug and they dug, unearthing a wealth of programming code that had heretofore been buried deep within the furthermost recesses of their minds.
Wealth began to flow like rivers, back in the day, as each of these programmers and would-be programmers waged ceaseless competition with one another. Each new line of code upped the ante, and PBM games that would eventually become things of gaming legend were erected where previously there was but barren opportunity.
They spoke the tongues of many programming languages. They were priests of a higher programming order, each fervently loyal to their programming language of choice.
These were the Avowed. These were the Keepers of the Holy Secrets of the Code. In those days, their power and influence was unsurpassed. They created entire worlds, entire galaxies, entire universes. They knew the key to PBM life.
Whatever became of them? Whatever became of the Code? Where are their bizarre religions of programming, now? Where are the games that their Code gave life to?
Such are mysteries common to the PBM initiated.
All these many years later, all that remains are bits and pieces, mere specks and morsels, of an extravaganza of PBM gaming.
Such a pity that almost all of it was lost for all eternity. Such carelessness. Such lack of planning. Such lack of vision.
But, what of their descendants? What of the Sons and Daughters of the Code? Where is their Lore? What is their future?
Few are the repositories of the Code that are left. Like great citadels, there they stand upon plains and plateaus both desolate and barren of life.
Oh, rest assured, there have been those who have sought to restore PBM games of old to a state of renewed glory. But, in time, when others of PBM gaming's posterity look back, will they, too, struggle in vain for the Code?
New PBM games are locked away in the back of new minds. Yet, what they lack is the Code. The exact location of the Great Cave of the Play By Mail Clan is known, no more. It remains but a distant and fleeting memory.
Legend has it that, if that Great Cave is found once more, then the waters of play by mail shall flow, once again.
The PBM Legacy - What shall history record as your role in preserving the seeds of PBM's greatness?

Is the Auto Reply something we should see an immediate response from or may it take a bit. The reason I ask is I have yet to receive one and being as paranoid as I am I sent in orders again. Sometimes it has taken the auto responder several hours to give a message back that it has received orders.
Mainly looking for assurances that orders has been received.

StarCon player Michael Noriega has e-mailed me, to let me know that, in his words, "If StarCon isn't dead, it is deeply asleep, and shown no indication of waking up."
Michael was in a Bitter End game of StarCon, and his last turn for that game was due in February of 2010.
Michael sees no prospect of movement from the game, in the near future.
The rules for StarCon can be found here

Project Libertine
Hatch, over at the Project Libertine Development Blog, is getting ready to implement the framework ready to implement morale for ships and colonies. The game is supposed to be an upcoming 4X Space Exploration browser game, and Hatch is looking at morale as being a way to get rid of unplayed ships.

Briny en Garde!
Over at the Briny en Garde! forum, they are sorting out the last details on the Dueling mechanics to be used for that game, according to their site user, Aquazoo.

Flagship
I stopped by the Flagship magazine website, today, but aside form Sean Cleworth of Gad Games posting an update about his blog postings, the Flagship site continues to produce no news. It's mostly a PBM ghost town, these days.

Fall of Rome
Over at the Fall of Rome forums, Rick McDowell of Alamaze fame has floated an idea for feedback about creating either a "Fall of the United States" game or an "Ancient Greece" game, with the underlying game engine being what they use to run Fall of Rome II games.

Middle-earth Strategic Gaming
Site user Iron Man, over at the Middle-earth Play By Mail forum, has posted, and is looking for individuals interested in a Standard 1650 Grudge match. Contact him on that site, if interested.
