Takamo Universe Kickstarter
#1
Takamo Universe, the successor to the PBM Takamo, launched a Kickstarter project today. The cloud funding project will last from October 15, 2013, to November 16, 2013. In early 2011, a team was formed to redevelop Takamo as a massive multiplayer online game titled Takamo Universe. It is a massive 3D, persistent and continually expanding universe with thousands of player and AI empires operating in real time. Qualified backers will gain entry to the Beta, estimated to start December, 2014, as well as exclusive game content. Beta participants will then roll their empires into the commercial release. Check us out at www.takamouniverse.com and click on the Kickstarter link on the right side bar. Tell every gamer you know about us and support the project!

Looks like great stuff! The YouTube videos in the Takamo Universe channel give some nice insight into how gameplay is going to work. It looks like an 'empire-based' entry into the space MMO (occupied by games like EVE Online and the in-development Star Citizen) - a nice change to be able to take a strategic view of the universe, not just always a tactical battle focus.

We will be adding additional content to the Kickstarter site as well as our web site. A new backer level will be added to entice Takamo Veterans and other PBM veterans to join us. Every Takamo veteran and PBM veteran will be allowed to join at a reduced backer level that gives access to the Beta. Additionally, any person who the veteran recruits can join at the same reduced backer level and, if they name the backer who recruited them, the recruiter will get an additional asset in the game.

Two new incentives have been added to the Takamo Universe Kickstarter project:

1. PBM veterans can now get in on the Beta and play free for six months to a year by becoming a Backer at the $15.00 level.

2. Backers who recruit a new backer will get a colony moon at the start of the Beta and so will the new backer. You will get one colony moon for each backer recruited at any level. All they need to do is name you as the person who recruited them.
