Tactics
#11
Okay the Targeting Tactics screen is coded. I've still got the back end to do but that's relatively simple. Just wait for the "commit" click and then save the targets as chosen; and, of course, restore the active tactics to the screen the next time the player calls it up.

I still have boarding & repelling and ship maneuvers to get out of the way, as well.

Nice. The ordering/organization makes sense.

I have uploaded a new page to the Rimwiki dealing with the tactical choices that must be made to set up a boarding party and/or to defend against boarding parties. This kind of f2f combat is much more likely to occur when a starbase is attacked, in part because they are more likely to have goods on board, and because a base cannot runaway.

Boarding Operations

I just changed to a different layout for the wiki - any thoughts on how its laid out would be welcome.

I liked the blue color on the previous layout better. I think that it was on a side bar.

I like the white background for the wiki pages, where the mass of text is, on the current wiki. I don't recall with exactness the look of the last layout.

I dislike the logo. It sucks.

Actually, the site was brown-themed before.

Thanks for the feedback.

Great improvement all round Jon.

I see you don't own the rimworlds.com domain, which is a pity. What domain will you be hosting your game under, have you decided yet?

Rimworlds.net is the game domain, rimworlds.info will handle the support stuff like the wiki, the forums, etc.

If Commodore Grimes gets top billing for Rimworlds, I won't be too sad. I enjoyed those books a lot.

I was thinking that the left sidebar was blue, previously? The brown was a light brown.

I found the old look in a Google cache, just now. So, what am I thinking of, where the blue in question is concerned? I don't know.

Comparing the old and new side by side in two different windows, either looks OK. On the new look, those links at the top in the horizontal row could stand with a more noticeable rollover effect. Maybe make the text change color. It's not a bad looking site, either way.

Maybe the pic I was using. The large battle cruiser in the middle was blue and silver.

No, it wasn't a picture that I was recalling. Maybe it was a different site, and not the Rimworlds site. But, I've been there on several different occasions. I could have sworn that it was the Rimworlds site, that i was thinking about.
