• Factional Name:
The Imperials
NOTE: I really like the Imperials a lot, they are the 'Big Box' faction within the game and that means they have tons of Resources and Regiments to call on to bail them out. To me that makes them to easy of a faction to play because they are so powerful. They are kind of cool as well too.
•The primary purpose for the faction to exist?
They want it all! They are here to save Midgard from itself !
They want to take and control everyone cities. They want their Imperial Legates in everyones city. This whole notion of Gods is a total waste of time, as everyone knows you all should be worshiping the Imperial Emperor. The Imperials seek to bring their Order and Laws to everyone and rescue them from their backward ways. They will save you despite your selves because they know best!
•What distinguishing feature does this faction have?
They wear rounded Helmets on their little square heads... LMAO! Seriously they are the equal to the Boda warriors of Midgard, but they excel in Siege Warfare, both in Sieging a city and defending against a siege. They also are the masters of Siege Weapons use, thus Light Siege, Medium Siege and Heavy Siege weapons. They are Foot Warriors and specialize in HI and MI. They also have a Great Shield where they use that as well and greatly increase their Defense with combat formations on the field of battle. The Imperial Legate factional office, brings Law and Order to any city that it is built in, which has a calming effect on a cities happiness rating.
• What specific in-game benefit can this faction have?
+1 Defensive bonus with combat and if troops are armed with a Great Shield they get a additional +1 Defense bonus(thus +2) for units armed with Great Shields
+1 Bonus in Siege warfare battles
Imperial Legates give a bonus of +2% per Legate adding to a cities happiness factor
Imperial Legates add to the number of Light Siege (Ballista), Medium Siege (Catapult), Heavy Siege (Trebuchet), and adds the new item of Great Shields to the market
•What makes this faction interesting and fun to play?
They have different pop cents; Preservs (huge IMP only cities), Forts (IMP only pop centers), and IMP cities that are open to all other factions except Barbarians, Bandits, and Pirates. They can field large armies to fight with, but they need to always be watchful of everyone. Trust no one except other Imperial clans.
NOTE: Under Zan's Midgard USA he made all Perservs 25.0 Walls/Towers, and Forts at 10.0 Walls/Towers. THAT IS NOT the case here, 10.0 is the tallest you can go and Davin has stated that everything is being reset so everything will need to be rebuilt.
•What (usually mutual) factional enemies?
Boda, Roder, Barbarians, Bandits, Pirates
