I'm willing to consider making adjustments to our starting factions, but my main worry is having too many to start with. For a faction to be viable we need a reasonable number of players in each one, and so far I'm not expecting to see more than a few dozen players in total near the re-beginning of the game. I don't want to spread them too thin. Perhaps I can cut back on the starting core factions and give the remaining ones some more flavor so that we then have room to expand into some of the other choices sooner.
