FH is open source?
#1
So I just read somewhere that FH is open-source? Is that true? Can I get a copy of the source code? Can we start modding it? Smile

Sure.
Original code was tweaked and fixed in here: http://code.google.com/p/far-horizons/
Our GM continues to improve the codebase, more information here: http://fh.binaryelysium.com/Development

Yes. This is true Smile

My version of the source code (forked from the above google repo) is here: https://github.com/Ramblurr/Far-Horizons

Before starting on any game mechanics tweaks or additions, I want to:
  • Identify and fix any bugs
  • Create a full set of standalone admin tools (almost done see tools/)
  • (most important) Create player documentation to assist new players in learning the game

I already have a bunch of mods I want to make to the game core later. Feel free suggest any here! I'd love to have more discussion and even development help. I might consider myself the latest in a long line of FH stewards, but I am by no means the sole proprietor or controller of FH.
