General Discussion about Cluster Wars
#1
Some threads in this forum section are played-specific, so I figured that having a general discussion thread for the game, Cluster Wars.

I went ahead and created a separate forum thread that I posted as a sticky to the top of the Cluster Wars section, one that contains numerous important links that pertain to the game, so that site users here that play Cluster Wars can locate those particular links more quickly.

Some that are of particular importance, I intentionally posted in larger text, so as to increase their visibility to the forum users on this site.

I hope that this proves helpful to the players of Cluster Wars.

Happy gaming!

New turn is out, but I cannot download it. Alerted Vern to this issue. Anyone else able to download turn 3 yet?

I downloaded it successfully. I don't know the official procedure, but what I did was:

- open up Central Command
- select my "game"
- click "download turn" (or whatever the button says)
- click "reload DB"
- watch it crash out
- re-open and reselect my game
- voila -- turn 3 is now on display

It took me 8 or 9 attempts and it finally worked. I never hit re-load db. What a clusterfark. That said, I cannot even look at the turn since I have no access on my mac, so I assume it won't work. BEsides, it is too late for a 450am wakeup tomorrow and I do not feel like breaking out the work laptop.

Gonna email Vern about this, but what do you all think?

Food consumed = 29214768
Food produced = 56250000
Food held by Pop = 131891467
Food shortage = 0

And yet I have no food in my inventory anywhere. WTH?!

They haven't gotten their stockpile satisfied yet.

Central Command will do the reading of the MS Access mdb file. Don't assume it won't work.

Isn't the stockpile supposed to be 4x food consumption? So in this case, they are eating around 30m food a turn, so shouldn't they be done when the stockpile is 120m? Why is his stockpile up over that mark?

Just trying to understand...

I don't appear to be having the shortage problem BUT it seems I have more than the legal amount of Farm-1's assembled and producing food.

I would suggest you file a ticket at the help desk. There is a link to it on the upper right corner of the ECW Manual page but I will paste it here:
http://empyreanchallenge.com/Hdesk/index.php

I will be filing a ticket too. I have a Hab of 25 with a rules defined limit of 100,000 Farms-1 per Hab point and yet the game let me assemble additional Farm's-1 and they are all (3,250,000) running...so I am producing 81,250,000 FOOD, consuming 29,222,555 FOOD and have a stockpile of 136,853,821 FOOD. I also have 70,043, 357 FOOD in Inventory.

It sounds like some formulas and/or processing code needs to be CORRECTED. Dodgy

update for myself and Pool Boy:

130m food is NOT enough for a 4-turn stockpile. We have population levels in excess of 200m. So even with farms cranking at full blast, it will be a number of turns before we have enough surplus food to consider outfitting new ships, colonizers, etc.

I did file a ticket on the Farms-1 limitation as I was able to assemble more than 100,000 Farms-1 per habitability point AND they are running. Of course there is room for the excess 1,000,000 Farms-1 to be assembled on the 10 habitability planet yet to be settled in the home system.
