Having played D&D now for 43+ years, I too like Mages. I played AD&D, version 2.5, 3.5, 3.5+(Pathfinder), and version 5. I also feel that D100 Roleplaying is a good system as well too. I am also a big Traveller fan, as well as a Hero System version 5R too. I am a die-hard Gamer and DM/GM roleplayer, but I do enjoy Table Top War Gaming too.
