Quest (KJC Games)
#1
‘Quest is a great fantasy adventure through a world of powerful gods, strange magic and dream cities, of mystical beasts guarding untold treasures. Take up your spellbooks and swords and begin your Quest.’

http://www.kjcgames.co.uk/quest/quest.htm

Just to make things clear I am not connected with KJC in any way but simply a player that enjoys this particular game of theirs.

I run friendly Alliances in Naralia (31), the Chaos Isles (33) and Quest Unlimited (20). Focusing on helping players get to grips with the Rules and the development of their Groups.

At its heart Quest is all about creating and developing an effective Fantasy Adventuring Party consisting of Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Halbloods. All available as Fighters, Priests, Mages and Thieves further split into various sub-classes. You begin with 6 characters capable of taking on a few weak Goblins working your long way to a full party of 15 able to defeat mighty Giants, Dragons and Godly Servants.

Feel i should also note for any people planning a return that Quest had a massive update in 2012 fixing bugs and adding many features players had requested over the years. So much has changed.

Thanks for the link, first orders have been sent and now waiting for results, can't wait!

Btw I have a couple of questions...

How long does it take to receive the turn results? and where do you find your account number? is the account number the same as the party number?

Happy to help. Hope everything goes well with your first Turn.

With email play in Game 33 your Turn should be back in a few Hours.

Account Number is different from Party Number and shown near the top left of your Startup Turn along with Date, Party Age, etc. It should be 5 digits long whereas Party Number is just 4.

Quest Unlimited Game 20 (demo Game 19) is email only with Turns processed every few minutes. And KJC games have generously extended the free-play times to:

Saturday morning: 09:00-12:00
Sunday morning: 09:00-12:00
Wednesday night: 18:00-21:00

You can get a lot done with your Group during those 9 hours per week.

Quest seems to be an interesting game. I remember it from way back. On the quiet there are a surprising number of such games around, and each with a decent following.

Hi Greybeard,

Yes Quest sure has been going for a long time. It had a load of updates and fixes a few years back. I especially enjoy the fantasy setting, the fact there are no Turn deadlines and that 15 character slots per Group give many tactical setup options. My preference is for heavy melee hitters like Berserkers, Gladiators, Knights and Footmen with a Scout for expert monster spotting. With a few Priests and Mages thrown in for miracle and spell casting support.

Quest Unlimited G20 is probably the best way to try the old game. You play through the Demo G19 for 20 Turns for free then transfer your Party to the main game world where the real fun begins...

I would to see an article in Suspense & Decision comparing Quest to DungeonWorld.
Raven Zachary in Portland, Oregon, USA. Currently playing: TribeNetSuperNova, KnightGuildMiddle-earthTakamo, and Wraith.
