Registering with KJC Games Troubles - Beast - 02-18-2011 I was able to partially register with KJC games, getting a user name and password. However I have not been able to log into their forums or join a game, “It’s a Crime” in particular. I have sent emails to kjc@kjcgames.com, enquiry@kjcgames.com, and orders@kjcgames.com getting a single reply from enquiry@kjcgames.com only asking me what game I was trying to join. Has anyone else had this problem or better yet know how to get around this? Thanks Beast RE: Registering with KJC Games Troubles - GrimFinger - 02-18-2011 I forwarded Mica Goldstone of KJC Games a link to this thread. RE: Registering with KJC Games Troubles - Beast - 02-18-2011 Thanks Grim, got an email from him saying he will sign me up manually, have to see how it goes. Beast RE: Registering with KJC Games Troubles - Beast - 02-27-2011 I never received additional contact form KJC games on It's A Crime! The next game was suppose to start on the 25th and they were suppose to manually set me up since the web site join feature was not working. Unless someone else was had better luck I think It's A Crime! can be declared dead due to lack of support. After sending an email to the kjc@ email address, I received this response: Quote:Hi David, All appears to be well. RE: Registering with KJC Games Troubles - Plinth - 06-08-2011 Does anyone know what is going on with KJC Games? I recently decided, after many years, to try playing It's A Crime again and can't wait to get started. But it has been a real struggle to get any kind of response from KJC. After many emails, I was finally told that I was on the list for the next game. I have tried following up to find out if they've got a start date or if there are any takeover gangs I could start with whilst waiting. But it just seems to be impossible to get a response. All I want is a simple email letting me know what's going on. It's a real shame but if something doesn't happen soon I think I'll have to look elsewhere for my gaming fix. On which note, does anyone have any suggestions for a good It's A Crime replacement to satiate my gaming needs? I can confirm this, because I am in it. This game appears to have a lot of drops and it is free to play the standard 4 orders per turn (you have to pay a small fee for double orders). The customer service is awful. I went through the same as you when I initially signing up. No response for a long time. Apparently, they put you on a list and then when a game is ready to start months later, they send everyone an email telling them they are in the game. Their forums are dead. It is IMPOSSIBLE to join the forums. I'm not kidding. I tried to join multiple times but kept getting denied. Now that I am actively in a game, I am still unable to join. There is an in-game message board that nobody uses, but that is it as far as communication goes. I think that every successful PBM or PBeM game still running has one thing in common: they have a strong online community that gathers at particular website to discuss the game. By providing a forum that new players cannot access, they not only give the appearance that nobody plays any of their games anymore, but they make certain that no sense of online community can develop. I'm not really enjoying the game, truth be told, but I'm continuing playing the free turns in the hopes that it gets more interesting later on or I can provide enjoyment for another player playing the game. After all, it takes about 15 minutes per week to read the turn and submit orders. Good luck, sorry I don't have better news for you. RE: Registering with KJC Games Troubles - Plinth - 06-14-2011 Paway, thanks for the reply. Good news before I got chance to reply to you, I got sent the start up for IAC. Still haven't got reply to the emails though. Weird you would have thought that a PBeM would be good at responding to emails. Obviously not. Hope game 76 is getting more interesting - any tips? Weird you would have thought that a PBeM would be good at responding to emails. Obviously not. I'm glad they finally got in touch with you. My game is still fairly unexciting. I'm running two gangs, one has expanded almost to the max and hasn't encountered any other living opponents, the other has bumped into two so far and is trying some firebombing with poor results. This is my first game of It's a Crime, so I suspect you know more than I do about the game. I spent the first several turns capturing as much territory as possible, now I'm trying my best to recruit more gang members and get my notoriety up. I hope your game starts relatively soon. Have fun! RE: Registering with KJC Games Troubles - Ted - 06-22-2011 I spoke to Mica at KJC about this problem. It seems that the emails go to an automated system, hence no reply from a human being. Players applying to join games are just added to the waiting list. He said he'll look into changing it so that confirmations are sent out. |
