Weapon class types for units - DreamWeaver - 11-14-2019 Lets talk about the weapon types for Clan Units: The standard classes are: [ul] [li] LI (Light Infantry)[/li] [li] MI (Medium Infantry)[/li] [li] HI (Heavy Infantry)[/li] [li] LM (Light Missile) - Hand throne weapons[/li] [li] MM (Medium Missile) - Cross Bow, standard Bob[/li] [li] HM (Heavy Missile) - Think English Long Bow or Recurve Bow[/li] [/ul] Now the "Infantry" types have a "Damage" value and a "Defense" value. Thus the Damage value is the amount of damage inflicted in a combat round, and the Defense value is the amount of protection their armor protects against in a combat round. Next the "Missile" types have a "Damage" Value, a "Defense" value, and a "Range" Value. The Range value is how far that they can inflict damage at a existence. Weapon Chart: Wpn Type:, Damage:, Defense:, Range: [ul] [li]LI 1 1 0[/li] [li]MI 2 2 0[/li] [li]HI 3 3 0[/li] [li]LM 1 1 1[/li] [li]MM 2 1 3[/li] [li]HM 3 1 5[/li] [/ul] Note: a "0" means face to face Now in different versions of the game like Midgard USA there were also Combined Arms types: LI/LM LI/MM MI/LM MI/MM Note: These were learned by learning to do each of these types separately in game, or by a factional perk. Some factions had special abilities to arm themselves with some of these combinations. So lets talk about the this topic. The terms might actually be titled slightly differently (Damage, Defense, Range) but it gets the Idea across. Like most of our intentions, we're expecting to start with only the basic types and consider combinations later. We've got to get the framework working properly before we can expand it for other options. But just out of curiosity, what happens when you combine arms? No the whole unit would be armed with both weapons types: Example Clan: Unit 0 BLD/MSE/GRD 500 UA Unit 1 FMB/WG 1000 MI/LM Unit 2 SUP/1 300 LI/MM Unit 3 RSV 15 MI/LM Unit 4 BDG 50 MI/LM Unit 5 CUR 50 MI/LM Unit 6 SCN/M 300 MI Unit 7 SCT/7/8/1 90 LI/LM Unit 8 SCT/6/0/2 90 LI/LM Unit 9 SCT/5/4/3 90 LI/LM Basically a player would need to purchase double the weapons types to outfit the units. |
